How to Make a Teacup Bird Feeder

  1. Prepare the gelatin
In a mixing bowl, prepare one packet of unflavored gelatin according to package directions. Usually, this means combining it with hot water and then cool water to help it set properly.

  2. Add the birdseed
Pour in two cups of birdseed. Depending on the gelatin packet size, you may need to adjust the amount slightly. You're aiming for a thick, sticky consistency.

  3. Mix it well
Stir until the seed is fully coated. It should resemble oatmeal. If it’s too watery, sprinkle in more seed a little at a time.

  4. Spoon it into the teacups
Fill each teacup with the mixture, pressing it down gently. Place the cups on a tray and refrigerate them for a few hours to let the gelatin fully set.

  5. Add ribbon for hanging
Once firm, remove the cups from the fridge and tie a ribbon or twine securely around the handle. Knot it into a bow, and leave enough length to hang it from a tree branch or shepherd's hook.
