Simple Easter Books We’re Loving This Year (Toddler & Preschool Picks)

Easter in our dayhome doesn’t need to be complicated.
Some of our favourite moments this time of year are actually the simplest…
Sitting together, flipping through books, and talking about what we see.
So I wanted to share a few of the Easter and spring books we’ve been reaching for lately — the ones the children keep coming back to.
π£ Why I Love Seasonal Books
Books are one of the easiest ways to bring seasonal learning into your day without extra prep.
They help children:
• build language and vocabulary
• make connections to the world around them
• explore themes like spring, animals, and kindness
• slow down and connect
And the best part?
You can read them again and again — and they always feel new.
π Our Easter Book Picks

Here are a few of our favourites right now:
• The Great Eggscape! — a fun, playful story that always gets giggles
• Hop! Hop! — simple and perfect for younger toddlers
• Never Touch a Grumpy Bunny / Chicks — interactive and engaging
• ABC's of Kindness at Easter — great for storytelling and discussion
• Hap-Pea Easter — sweet and lighthearted
• We’re Going on an Egg Hunt — a fun, familiar rhythm kids love
We also rotate in spring-themed books like:
• chicks, bunnies, and farm animals
• kindness and connection stories
• simple board books for independent exploring
π± How We Use Books in Our Day

Books aren’t for circle time here.
We use them throughout the day:
• set out in invitations to play
• paired with sensory bins or loose parts
• read one-on-one or in small groups
• left accessible so children can revisit them independently
This helps children build confidence, familiarity, and a love of reading.
π‘ Simple Idea: Pair Books with Play
One of my favourite ways to extend learning is pairing books with simple play setups.
For example:
• a bunny or chick sensory bin
• loose parts in spring colours
• small world play with animals

π It Doesn’t Have to Be Complicated
You don’t need a full plan or themed schedule to make Easter meaningful.
Sometimes it’s as simple as:
• a cozy space
• a few books
• time to connect
And that’s more than enough.
